Course Description

A Practical Guide to Psychics & Mediums (and how to assess a reading)

This four-week course is designed for investigators and seekers who are interested in finding a legitimate psychic or medium to work with or get a reading.  The course will give you the basic tools to:

  • Properly understand what a practitioner means when using the term psychic, medium, channeler, or other similar labels.
  • How to find psychic practitioners -- including spirit mediums -- for personal readings or to work with during paranormal investigations.
  • How to understand the role of "window-dressing" that many practitioners (even genuine ones) might use, and how to get the practitioner past that.
  • How to act/react in a reading so you get the most out of the session, and some good questions to ask.
  • How to assess the psychic/medium practitioners' claims -- as well as individual readings -- to determine if they're real, fraudulent, or just fooling themselves
  • How to get the most out of any reading.

When: Live broadcasts once a week or watch the class recordings at your convenience.

Where: This is an ONLINE COURSE, so you can participate anywhere you have an internet connection.

Tuition: $115 (Rhine Members - $100)

Course Description

In this eight-week academic course, students will examine two of the most carefully studied phenomena connected to the question of survival after death: Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) and Cases of the Reincarnation Type (CORT). The first four weeks focus on NDEs—their characteristic features, the methods researchers use to investigate them, the range of physiological, psychological, and survival-oriented explanations, and what the strongest evidence currently reveals about consciousness near the point of death. The second four weeks turn to Cases of the Reincarnation Type, exploring the classic research approaches developed in this field, the hallmarks of the most evidential cases, possible explanations, and the implications these reports hold for personal identity and the possibility of life after death.

The course emphasizes what science can—and cannot—currently tell us about the afterlife while remaining grounded in the evidence. For both phenomena, students will learn the factual findings from decades of systematic investigation, how to evaluate competing interpretations with clarity and balance, and how these spontaneous experiences are studied outside the laboratory.
